A new breed of Virtual Office Services company has launched with a powerful suite of internet communication and collaboration tools that allows them to match how their clients want to work. The Opportunity
Office Lifeline is the brainchild of Anna Isaacs, an experienced PA, who has created the company in response to spotting the demand for virtual PA and office services. Anna first approached The National B2B Centre who helped her to design her e-business processes and identify potential technologies, but they were unable to offer implementation services. Anna couldn’t afford expensive ICT equipment and didn’t want to borrow or find investors to back her in developing her own technology platform. Anna discovered Viretec Consulting who, together
with web technology partners Gate4 and P-tech, formed an Innovation Network
with grant aid to develop a unique, low cost, virtual office services
e-business technology based on open source technology. Viretec played the
leading role in the network and provided business planning and process
development advice. They continue to support Office Lifeline, helping to design
and bring online new service offerings and set up their clients’ IT systems to
enable them to work virtually. As the business grows, the solution is growing
with them.
The Outcome Office Lifeline is growing steadily, with more regular clients than expected in the first year. As a result, Anna now has three virtual secretaries locally and in Canada who all operate as part of her virtual delivery organization, providing a variety of specialist and fast-turnaround services. This would not be possible without the array of web-based technology that Office Lifeline and their clients currently use.
